Ambassador spotlight is a short article where we feature members of the HOP community and share with you their adventures.
HOP ambassador Louis Alexander is our first feature, find out more about his story below.

Louis Alexander will be taking on a phenomenal challenge at the end of November. In support of Alzheimer’s Research UK, Louis is running an ultra marathon of 100km! This is Louis first 100km ultra, however he is no stranger to the extreme, climbing Mr Kilimanjaro in 2019 and completing twenty endurance challenges in 2020, all in support of Alzheimer's research. On the subject of cricket based protein, Louis talked about nutrition being the key to endurance events and "if it's sustainable then even better!" We certainly agree with you there Louis! When Louis was asked about his inspiration to take on such an incredible challenge he said: "My Grandfather lived with Dementia for his last 17 years, after being diagnosed at the age of 58. I made the promise a few years ago at his funeral to my family that I would support Alzheimer’s Research UK with at least one challenge every year, until the day we hopefully find a cure." What a moving motivation! There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease or any other type of dementia. Delaying the onset of dementia by five years would halve the number of deaths from the condition, saving 30,000 lives a year. Everyone at HOP would like to commend Louis for all his hard work for an important cause.
